The sayings of the Prophet and his pure household () and their news constituted the second source of Islamic legislation, especially for the Imamiyyah. Only the Qur’anic text preceded them, which gave them importance that scholars wanted to understand and strive to achieve their goals. Among the most prominent of their efforts in this regard is the book (Mirror of Minds in Explanation of the News of the Family). The Messenger) by the scholar Muhammad Baqir al-Majlisi (1111 AH), who held it for his understanding of the meanings of the noble news based on in-depth semantic discussions that are mostly based on linguistic and contextual foundations.
