Textual coherence in the poetry of Abu Talib (p. b. u. h. )

Abstract

This study demonstrates textual coherence in Abu Talib's poetry. Its importance is evident in transcending the commas or boundaries within the sentence itself, even extending to the boundaries of the text, as it constitutes a thematic unit that is linguistically and thematically consistent. It aims to demonstrate the features and images of textual coherence in Abu Talib's poetry. This is achieved by deconstructing the internal elements of the poem and demonstrating the degree of harmony and coherence of these elements with each other. We note that Abu Talib's poetic verses were interconnected between their internal elements through the poet's use of connecting tools such as ellipsis, vocatives, interrogatives, repetition, and other tools included in his poetry. The result, through these connections, was a coherent poetic text, revealing its meaning and articulating the connotations it conveyed.
