Abstract

Muslims respect Ramadan Month as one of the most virtuous and important Islamic months in which they fast and do worships. This virtue and excellence comes from eight components, including Ramadan Month itself, fasting, the Night of Power, the revelation of the Qur'an and angels, as well as the determination of destiny, guardianship and health. This research has been conducted using content analysis on library sources and Islamic sciences software such as Jame al-Ahadith and Jame al-Tafasir. The findings of this article present a coherent and codified classification of the components of virtue and excellence and refer to health as an achievement of the holy month of Ramadan. After explaining each of these components, the author concludes that the ultimate achievement of human from these components is “health”, as the real benefit of fasting. Health is considered as an achievement of the holy month of Ramadan for eight reasons, including health of the body, health of the heart, health coming from avoiding sin, health coming from escaping divine torment, health of organs and joints, social health, health coming from prayer, and sleep health.
