Arabic poetry, from its earliest beginnings to the present day, has been rich with the three rhetorical sciences (meaning، expression, and figures of speech), each with its own distinct topics. Simile is an important topic within the science of expression, and its use in Arabic poetry is widespread, to the point that hardly any poem by poets throughout the ages is devoid of simile. While reading the collection "A Perfume from an Old Bottle" by the Karbala poet Nazim al-Fadhli, his use of simile caught my attention. This prompted me to write this research، entitled "Simile in Terms of its Tools in the Poetry of Nazim al-Fadhli: A Selection of the Collection 'A Perfume from an Old Bottle'" The research is divided into a preliminary introduction and two main sections. The introduction defines the concept of simile in both its linguistic and technical senses, explains the most important tools of simile and their purposes، and provides a brief overview of the poet's biography.

The first section is titled: Explicit Simile in the Diwan (Perfume from an Old Bottle). The second section is titled: Emphatic Simile in the Diwan (Perfume from an Old Bottle). This is followed by the most important findings of the research، as well as a list of the sources and references from which the research material was drawn.
