Abstract

This research addresses the topic of Quranic jurisprudence, or the rulings of the Quran, or the verses of legal rulings, using the book "Qala'id al-Durar" by Sheikh Ahmad al-Jaza'iri as a model. The research aims to highlight the importance of Quranic jurisprudence and the role of Sheikh Ahmad al-Jaza'iri in this field.

Quranic jurisprudence is a science concerned with deriving legal rulings from the Holy Quran. It is considered one of the most important Islamic sciences, aiding in understanding the Quranic text and applying it to practical life. Verses of legal rulings are those verses that contain legal rulings related to worship, transactions, personal status, punishments, and retribution, and they constitute an essential part of Islamic legislation.

Sheikh Ahmad al-Jaza'iri was a scholar and jurist from the Najaf seminary who passed away in 1120 AH. He made significant contributions to the field of Quranic jurisprudence. His book, "Qala'id al-Durar fi Bayan Ayat al-Ahkam bil-Athar" (Necklaces of Pearls in Explaining the Verses of Legal Rulings Based on Tradition), is considered an important reference in this field, as it employs the traditionalist methodology in deriving rulings from the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah. The book clarifies the legal rulings derived from the verses of legal rulings, citing evidence from the Quran and Hadith. This research examines examples of verses related to worship, such as prayer, fasting, zakat (almsgiving), and Hajj (pilgrimage); verses related to transactions, such as buying and selling, marriage, and divorce; and verses concerning prescribed punishments (hudud) and retaliation (qisas). The research also highlights Sheikh Ahmad al-Jaza'iri's methodology in interpreting these verses and deriving legal rulings from them. In conclusion, the research underscores the importance of Quranic jurisprudence (fiqh) and Sheikh Ahmad al-Jaza'iri's role in serving this field, emphasizing the significance of studying verses related to legal rulings to understand and apply Islamic law in daily life.
