Education in Mauritania during the French occupation 1903 – 1960

This research deals with the French cultural policy (education) in Mauritania during the French occupation period 1903-1960. The educational system in Al-Mahdara, and at the same time the application of the French educational system in Mauritania through the establishment of French schools that teach French subjects from the French language, literature, history, social systems, and aspects of its civilization .
The research was divided into three sections and a conclusion: the first section included the name, location and social structure of Mauritania, while the second section included education in Mauritania (the civilized) before the French occupation, and the third topic dealt with education in Mauritania during the French occupation period 1903-1960, this topic included Four points: the first, about the laws regulating French education, the second, the structure of French education in Mauritania, the third, the most important French schools in Mauritania, and the fourth, the obstacles to the spread of French education in Mauritania .
