Abstract

From the point of view of linguists and analysts, the study of the meanings of the words of the Qur'an is one of the necessities of translation and interpretation. Some words have semantic corollaries and are interchangeable, and this imperative is more important for these words. In this article, an attempt is made to discuss the Qur'anic words that have a common meaning of sin, to address the naming of their names, and to find out the reason for the diversity of their names in the Qur'an. The result of the study of the “ontology of sin” in the Qur’an shows that these words show different concepts, including: the cause of apathy, deviance and deviation, harmful, transgression of the limit, departure from obedience, rebellion and insolence, great, hated, deep ugliness, rejected by the rule of reason and law, lack of discipline In slavery, the minimum sin. So, the diversification of the names of sin in the Qur’an is due to the fact that there is no word that contains all the different points in these words and the greatness of sin, and each word contains part of the parts and aspects of sin.
