Abstract

Undoubtedly, the past century was born with literary theories, methods, and visions that have become a subject of research and study because of their importance to Arab writers and critics. In the middle of the second decade of the past century, the objective equivalent was born at the hands of the critic Elliot; But what is remarkable is that this birth was difficult, and the equivalent did not take its real place in the literature, because of its impact in defining the meaning of the sense and perception on which the literature was built. So he became troubled by the large number of approaches and terminology at the time, and after that he was not understood correctly, as everyone interpreted it according to his whims, in addition to that, the objective equivalent did not enjoy a complete and thorough study and a clear reading that touches knowledge and feeling.
