The search addresses King Edward VIII 's birth, childhood, upbringing, and his study of German and French language .Moreover his enrollment to the Naval Academy as well as well as his assumption of the title ‘‘the Prince of Wales’’, his personal qualities and his participation in the First World War as a soldier to reinforce his country's forces and after the end of the war . Furthermore ,after the end of the war, his father ,George V appointed him as a representative of his country as a goodwill ambassador. The research also addresses to the issue of his accession to the royal throne after the demise of his father, King George V, on December 20, 1936. Clearly , he differed from his father in term of customs and traditions and established a romantic relationship with Mrs. Simpson and when he assumed the throne he wanted to marry her, which caused a crisis that did not end until his abdication to the throne
