Abstract

One of the important issues that was raised from a long time ago and may have been raised after the journey of the Most Noble Prophet (PBUH), is the issue of distortion or not distortion of the Noble Qur’an, that is the Qur’an that we have in our hands is distorted, or has it reached us and is preserved from any kind of distortion? Whether the distortion is by decreasing and increasing or something like that? Most scholars of both groups (Shiites and Sunnis) and senior researchers in the field of Qur’anic sciences declare that the Holy Qur’an is not distorted by elaborate evidence, whether it is textual or rational evidence. But despite all this, there are many people, especially Dr. Fahd Al-Roumi, who gathered most of his energies and exerted all his efforts to attribute the saying of the distortion of the Noble Qur’an to the Twelver Shiites in his book, which is called “Directions of Interpretation in the Fourteenth Century.” From this point of view, the topic of the article in our hands will be a critical study on the theory of Fahd al-Roumi in the chapter attributing the saying of the distortion of the Qur’an to the Twelver Shiites. This article follows a clear goal, which is the answer to the following questions: What is the evidence of the writer Fahd Al-Roumi in attributing the saying of distortion to the Imami Shiites? Is it evidence that revolves around the orbit of science and logic, or is it outside this elaborate orbit? Was Fahd Al-Roumi able to prove what he claimed in his book or not? It is worth noting that the thesis of the writer Fahd Al-Roumi on the subject of distortion of the Qur’an among the Shiites was not a thesis of elaborate and scientific origins. He sought all his efforts to accuse the Shiites of infidelity
