Abstract

Iraq is currently facing a serious food challenge, the features of which are represented in the failure of its food production to meet its needs of the main food commodities, especially grains, as it tends to import most of these needs from abroad, which constitutes a serious threat to its food security and thus the national one. The food security strategy still aims to provide food, and the ability to obtain and use it, as providing it at the level of strategic grains (wheat, barley, rice, corn) means the necessity of providing sufficient quantities of them and of good quality or importing them to maintain their availability.
