Characteristics and Pillars of the Social Approach in the Interpretation of Makhzan al-Irfan in the Exegesis of the Quran

Abstract

Since the Holy Quran is the miracle that God Almighty sent to the noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, it is necessary to adhere to the rulings ordained by God Almighty through it and to avoid everything that He Glory be to Him, has prohibited. To understand what God's commands and rulings are and what His prohibitions are، it is essential to interpret the Book of God and explain the meanings of its blessed verses. This research will discuss a specific type of interpretative methodology, which is the social approach، from the perspective of a feminist interpretation authored by a great Shiite scholar, Lady Nusrat Amin. Her book is titled Makhzan al-Irfan fi Tafsir al-Quran (The Treasure of Knowledge in the Interpretation of the Quran).The discussion will begin by addressing the characteristics of the social approach as employed by Lady Nusrat Amin، including realism، freedom، and others. Then, the research will cover the foundational pillars of this approach, such as social justice، a focus on political matters, and attention to the proper education of the contemporary generation. The significance of this research lies in highlighting the social approach in the interpretation of Makhzan al-Irfan fi Tafsir al-Quran, through which Lady Nusrat Amin was able to merge the religious objective with the social objective. The methodology followed in this research is the descriptive-analytical approach.
