مع استمرار مدننا اليوم بعمليات التحضر وما تسببه من آثار سلبية على جودة حياة المجتمعات اصبح من الضروري اعادة النظر في تحسين الحالة الصحية والادراكية للفرد وتوفير بيئات ذات مساحات صحية على حد سواء المعيشية والترفيهية وحتى بيئات العمل بمعدل اجهاد اقل ومردود صحي اكبر ولتحقيق ذلك يمكن ان يكون ادراج السمات الطبيعية في هيكلة المناطق الحضرية ولذا تطرق البحث الى مفهوم البايوفيليا وبيان اهم المفاهيم والنظريات المرتبطة بالمفهوم ليتبين ان مفهوم البايوفليا يعتمد على العلاقة ما بين مفهومي الادراك والبيئة الطبيعية مكانيا ولغرض تحقيق تصور وفهم واضح حول المفهوم تم استخلاص مجمعو من المفردات (المؤشرات لمفهوم البايوفيليا) وهي عبارة عن مؤشرات ذاتية يمكن تحقيقها وقياسها من خلال ترجمتها مكانيا.
