Acid rain is formed from the reaction of sulfur-containing gases, the most important of which is sulfur dioxide, in the presence of ultraviolet radiation.
And the acidity of rain began to increase with the beginning of the industrial revolution, as a result of the huge emissions of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon that are released into the atmosphere, as a result of burning fuels such as oil and coal.
Acidic weather precipitation is not necessarily in the form of rain, snow, or fog. Acid compounds may arrive in dry form.
