Abstract

The very short story has artistic and aesthetic advantages that make it effective in the process of educating the recipient and pushing him to participate in the narration process. This study aims to stand on the Omani fictional experience represented by the experience of the writer Waleed Al-Nabhani, in order to identify the most important artistic and aesthetic features that characterized his group "Sarnamat" style; Starting with the semantics of the ambiguous title, and the extent to which this title relates to the internal titles and their contents. And relying on the method of paradox and showing contradictions to deepen the recipient's sense of the phenomena that he adopts. And his employment of enigmatic exciting texts with different interpretations, in order to activate the culture of readers through the technique of intertextuality. And adopting the principle of symbolism as a means of condensing texts, using innovative new symbols that challenge the reader. This study also seeks to identify the writer's intentions behind choosing his narrative themes and presenting them in the form of a very short story. In the study, we adopted the appropriate descriptive-analytical approach to analyze and criticize the very short story. Finally, we found that despite the unique characteristics of the very short story; It is very short in size and intensity, but the writer was able to use it with skillful intent to reach his multiple goals, broadcast his critical visions about aspects of life in Omani society, and call on the new generation to preserve the legacy of the ancestors.
